IT Support Apprentice

Ace IT Solutions are looking for an IT Apprentice to join our expanding IT support company. The position will cover many areas of IT support including call logging, remote support, user setup and fault diagnosis. You will be working as part of our team of experienced qualified service desk engineers.

Training

The Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship will enable you to gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours to provide first or second line support to internal and external customers and stakeholders to help them be productive when using technology. By the end of the programme, you will be able to set people up on their IT systems and provide support when needed, rectifying issues to maintain colleagues’ and the organisation’s productivity. 

As a result, you will receive the following qualification:

  • Infrastructure Technician (Standard) Level 3

  • Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

  • MTA Network Fundamentals/CompTIA A+/ CompTIA Network+ professional qualification (Choose one option)

  • Apprenticeship standard – Infrastructure technician

Apprenticeship Summary

Overview

  • Weekly wage, £150.00

  • Working week, Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 17:00pm

  • Total hours per week: 37.50

  • Expected duration 13 months

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Logging of service desk tickets into our helpdesk system

  • Preparing machines before they are sent out to clients

  • Creation of weekly and monthly reports

  • Helping our clients with their IT problems via email, telephone and remote-control tools

  • Office 365 and Active Directory user management

  • Good time keeping and attention to detail

  • Able to multi-task and prioritise 

Personal qualities

  • Friendly outgoing personality, this is just as important as technical skills

  • Someone with an interest in technology

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in maths and English

Future prospects

After successfully completing the apprenticeship there is an opportunity for future progression, contract to be extended or made permanent.

Things to consider

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
