We recently installed a remote desktop server at one of our clients based in the East Midlands. With a requirement for home working due to Covid-19 our client was experiencing difficulties connecting to their large data files and applications over traditional VPN’s. 

The new server allows people to access a “Remote Desktop” which is similar to remote controlling a computer based in the office.  This allows them full access to the systems, files and software which they normally use.  It has vastly improved their use of applications which were proving cumbersome and
slow over a VPN when working remotely.

The solution was installed alongside their existing servers with no downtime.  When ready we moved the remote users over one by one, offering remote help and assistance as needed.

They now have a robust remote platform allowing them the freedom to easily switch between the office and home working.
